These are my tiny noodle twins! (Yes, I call them noodles.) I elected to take my girls' newborn photos when they were five days old. I was kind of crazy and I'm not sure I was totally up to the task, but I love these anyway, though this is my first experience with photographing twin newborn babies.
The top ones are of Emerson, and Ruby follows. Ruby's begin at photo number six. People ask me a lot how I tell them apart, and truthfully, a lot of it is the hair. Emmy's had less since they were born; that, and she has a birthmark (which has faded significantly) on her left eyelid. Also, Ruby's a tad bigger. If you know them well enough, it's not terribly difficult because they have their own expressions and personalities, but it was much harder when they were brand new, I think. In the photos of them together, Emmy is left and Ruby on the right.
I haven't posted these photos before now because truthfully, I haven't had time to work on them! They're also pretty dear to me; I always feel as though I have a lot of room to improve with photography, and some part of me feels really exposed showing these photos because it's not only my work, but my babies as well. I think that's the hard thing about photography--it's a lot of putting yourself out there and hoping to strike a chord with people in a similar way that it hits you.
Sometimes I forget they were this tiny... and then other
times, I forget how big they actually are, because in my mind, they're
still both TINY five pound babes. I miss them like this; I don't miss,
however, the insane exhaustion and never-ending nights. Those first
couple of months were so crazy! I wouldn't take it back, though, never
never never. These girls have my heart forever.
These are SO precious! I think you did a great job! I'm so proud of you for having 2 babies (!) and for taking their pictures at 5 days old (!) and for using those blankets! :) I absolutely LOVE those little girls. I need to see them soon. They are getting way too big way too fast!!!
